Position Descriptions
On-call Substitute (welcoming applications for hiring timelines of two to three weeks from application date)
Support the entire school community by being on-call to substitute for staff during scheduled and unscheduled absences. Ongoing opportunities to observe in all learning environments will be prioritized in order to make substitution more seamless. Children's House Assistant (welcoming applications for hiring timelines of six weeks to six months from application)
Join our Montessori-trained Children’s House Guides, mixed-age community of children, other staff and committed families in developing an academically and socially supportive Montessori community. As a Children’s House Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in fostering an enriching environment by creating and maintaining materials as well as modeling and engaging children in caring for their Children’s House. No Montessori or Early Childhood Education experience is required!
Part-time and full-time positions are available; benefits for all those working full-time include health, dental, vision, life insurance, significant professional development opportunities, a fee waiver for eligible children, and paid time off. In the fall of 2022 — after three and a half years of leasing space — Community Montessori Columbus purchased 5400 Karl Rd. Columbus, OH 43229 from Karl Road Christian Church. We now operate the nearly 15,000 sf, mid-century church building on over three acres while sharing it with three Christian congregations as well as a long-standing Alcoholics Anonymous group.
Our location places us at the center of the neighborhood of Forest Park both logistically and socially, however, we attract staff and families from all over the North and East Sides of Columbus and across Central Ohio. Our school's neighborhood and the North Side of Columbus, OH generally offer a variety of benefits. The cost of living is lower than many other comparable neighborhoods in similar cities. It also offers a diversity of welcoming communities. Columbus - the 14th largest city in the country - is the heart of a fast growing metropolitan area of just over 2 million people. Downtown Columbus is just a 10 to 15 minute drive south from most points on the North Side. Central Ohio is also home to a well-maintained network of metro parks, several major rivers, and a growing network of bike trails.
